What is not working exactly?

I had the same issue. Activating Apple Pay in the app doesn’t work a.t.m. I set the region to Italy, changed my address to Italy via desktop app. Did reboots and I even put up a VPN to Italy. Didn’t work in the Bunq App.
But it DOES still work directly via Apple Wallet.
Go to Apple wallet
Add a card manually (you can find CVC and CC number inside the bunq app; also for Maestro)
Verify and you’re set! 😀

Little typo in my message: “Activating card” has to be “Activating Apple Pay”.
The activation of the card itself still goes via the App.
Then just continue the activation of Apple Pay via Wallet instead of Bunq.
Sorry for the confusion. 😉

Thank you for the tip. Manual actions work like a charm! -LIKE-

Got the same problem.. Cannot add on the last step.

I cannot seem to change my address anymore. It keeps on giving an ‘invalid address’ error. This is using the desktop app on a Mac.
Something went wrong

I figured out there is a new check on the postal code the 00000 XX format fails to verify. I am trying now by adding the letters of the zipcode infront of the city. So:
City: ‘XX Vlissingen The Netherlands’
Postal code: 00000
Street: My Street

De link werkt wel, maar vreemd genoeg is de comment niet meer zichtbaar.
Dit staat er in ieder geval :
Hi bunq.love. Recently bunq changed their policy regarding the address and it is no longer possible to change the address to an Italian one. However I found a workaround which is really simple.
Step 1: download bluestacks for windows
Step 2: download the Bunq app
Step 3: go into bluestacks settings and change the location to an Italian one (this can be found in settings and then at the bottom bar there is a button to change the location) do not forget to click on SET!
Step 4: open the Bunq app, login with your account.
Step 5: change the address to an Italian one (just like in your description)
Step 6: order the Italian cards
Step 7: change the address back to your own one.
Step 8: change iphone region to Italy.
Step 9: when you receive your cards repeat steps 3 and 5.
Step 10: activate Apple Pay
Step 11: repeat step 7
Ik heb zelf Apple Pay al sinds de allereerste dag en ik hoor dat er iedere week wel weer nieuwe mensen bij komen die Apple Pay (in NL) gebruiken.

I now have 3 Apple Pay activated cards (2 Maestro & 1 Mastercard). Just wanted to let you know that if you get an error at the last step (accepting terms and conditions) you should refresh the CVC code in the Bunq app. Entering that refreshed CVC will fix the problem. Don’t know why, but it happened for all 3 my cards.
Do this again when adding the card to Apple Pay.

Allemaal zonder succes.

@helmernl Thanks so much for your thorough explanation. https://bunq.love/faq/how-to-add-an-italian-bunq-card-to-your-non-italian-wallet/
Just added my Bunq card to my Watch. There’s one step in which I had to deviate from your story. After succesfully adding the card to my iPhone, trying to add it to my Watch, it failed. “Incorrect card information”, it stated. Only after generating a new CVC in the bunq app, it did work. I hope sharing this, helps others!

Hello, interesting is this option. I have a question: will this Apple Pay option work *everywhere* regular contactless payments are possible in The Netherlands? So will it work at all Albert Heijn locations (and not only the AH To Go’s). (I am already using Boon with Apple Pay, which is *not* accepted at regular Albert Heijns, so that’s why I want to make sure that Bunq offers a better option). Thanks for your answers!

Yes this works at (almost all) contactless payment stations. I almost use it (Apple Pay with maestro) every day. Several times a week at the local Albert Heijn store…and at work (paying for lunch)…all other Dutch stores…just a very small percentage of the payment terminals (I think less then 1%) doesn’t work…and then I use my card.

I just ordered the Italian bunq maestro card, on the invoice the country says IT.
Changed my address back to the Netherlands.
My question is: the employee in the chat at Bunq told me that the region of the card will be the same as the address in the app. So you guys think it will still work?
And just because I am curious, what is the average delivery time of the cards. because the app says 10 days.

If the invoice says IT, then your card will be an Italian one. The region of the card is based on the COUNTRY you select, in your case Italy. Since you changed your address back to your Dutch address, the (Italian card) will be delivered to your Dutch address.
We know it still works, because this is the way it worked since the launch of Apple Pay at bunq (the only moment it worked different was when you ordered the card in the first 12h after the launch).

Hi, I just installed Bluestacks on my Mac and got the Bunq app to work. Tried to change my address to an IT one. After I changed it and tried to save it I get an error message: ‘To change your address, please allow the Bunq app to access your location’. Any ideas what to do?

Is this method still working? I ordered my bunq maestro cards thursday through the bluestacks method. I see Italy on the invoice so it looks like I will recieve Italian Maestro cards on my NL account so until now that looks good.
But is this workaround still working to get the maestro card activated for apple pay?
- October 11, 2018 at 07:21#1279eelcomMember
Activated apply pay using a Bunq meastro card on my wives phone and watch yesterday without any real issue, so the instructions are valid / OK. Very nice, now I can try to add a Mastercard apple pay card to allow apple pay to work on websites (the web version of Apple pay seems to expect mastercard/visa and not meastro)

I have a problem setting it up. I installed the bunq desktop, entered a password and name device. then I hit the little wrench. Then on the right the API key and enable sandbox and hit the key
The prog opens and says sandbox mode active
I get a phoney name “Coffey” and when I change the country code in IT and change the Postcode and hit update it comes back with the old info on the screen
On my phone the address is not changed so I can’t go further.
Anybody can help me out?
- December 12, 2018 at 20:55#2954
Ok, I scanned the QR code with my bunk app. That set my buns app to premium user. On the desktop I put a password and device name and hit the icon below that and locked on the right side the two boxes and hit the button below and the desktop app opens and showed an account screen with Coffey s name and € 0,00 on the account
is there a way I can share screen grabs?
